A pair of 85/15S pickups harness sheer power and demonstrate PRS’ steadfast quality and unparalleled craftsmanship. After taking the guitar world by storm in 1985, PRS enthusiasts rely on these pickups to offer incredible vintage sounds whilst innovative modifications make them versatile enough for modern players. Go from smooth, mellow tones to ones with aggression and bite. These tight-sounding pickups are sure to make an impact, especially when you push them hard. Choose between the neck and bridge humbuckers without disrupting your performance, the 3-way blade switch is discreet and easy to use. And if volume and tone controls aren’t enough, the tone knob features a push/pull design which allows for coil splitting. The SE Custom 24 lends itself to limitless creativity, especially when you can reap the benefits of both single coil and humbucking sounds.
Two legendary tonewoods… one mesmerising instrument. A maple and mahogany build is what gives this guitar its sleek design and comfortable feel. But these tonewoods also contribute to the exhilarating tone, delivering warmth and brightness in good measure whilst projecting every note with gorgeous clarity. Taking centre stage is a maple top. It really is the ultimate wood for gigging with. Whether you’re strumming or fingerpicking, maple ensures there is glistening definition, enough to separate the notes of even the most complex of chords. It is bright, loud, and offers minimal feedback, so you won’t have to suffer that dreaded muddy sound. A flame maple veneer then grants the guitar improved robustness as well as a high-end finish. Prepare for sharp articulation, immense volume, and a mesmerising gig.
Providing a resonant undercurrent of warmth are the mahogany back and sides. Mahogany balances out the bright tonal qualities of maple perfectly thanks to its focus on midrange frequencies. And it promises a lifetime of divine playing as it matures beautifully, growing more focused the more you play. Such a gorgeous guitar body also needs excellent strength and durability to be able to handle wild gigs and lengthy studio sessions. Luckily, mahogany is incredibly robust and so as well as aging with grace, its sturdiness will never tire either.
The magnificent qualities of this guitar travel from the body and up a sublime maple neck. Showcasing a tremendous, thin and wide design, the neck is wonderfully comfortable to hold and gives your fingers the space they need to roam the rosewood fretboard freely. Rosewood is a stunning accompaniment to mahogany and maple as it evens out any harsh frequencies to ensure you are left with a beautifully balanced sound that begs your virtuosic sculpting. Its natural finish embellished with elegant bird inlays is striking and truly beautiful.
Featuring a 25″ scale length, the SE Custom 24 is designed to make pitch bends exceptionally easy whilst the right amount of string tension still provides gorgeous sustain. Slide your fingers across the smooth and fast frets effortlessly and experience the freedom of a 24-fret instrument with a classic aesthetic and unique, versatile tone. A sturdy tremolo bridge then allows you to enhance your music. Whether you’re performing mind-blowing divebombs or just adding another dynamic dimension to your chords, do so with vigour and passion.
