PING G425 Golf Irons (Steel) 5-SW
The release of a new range of PING golf clubs is a highly anticipated event on the golfing calendar as, unlike many other manufacturers, it only comes around every two years. Improving on the undoubted quality and incredible success of the G410 range was always going to require something special from this iconic American brand, and there can be no question that the PING G425 range is exactly that. The G range of irons has consistently been one of the best-selling clubs year after year and the release of the new PING G425 irons look set to see that trend, continue. PING’s expert R&D team have completely redesigned the G iron from the ground up making it so much more than an updated G410. For the first time ever, PING have introduced the same variable face thickness technology to the G425 iron that is found in their range of metal woods.
This technology allows the face to flex much more than on a conventional iron, and the result is a towering ball flight that will see you hitting less club into greens than ever before. Whilst extra distance with irons is nice, it must not be at the expense of control as it is essential that golfers are able to stop their approach shots on the green. PING have been extremely diligent in ensuring that the new G425 iron comes with excellent stopping power, something that has been missing from many distance irons in recent times. With the stronger lofts found on the modern-day distance iron it is crucial that the descent angle of shots into greens is steep enough to counteract the lower spin rates. The G425 iron’s VFT construction ensures that this is impressively achieved.
Aesthetically, this is undoubtedly the best-looking G series iron PING have ever made with the simple Black and chrome colour scheme giving it a classic premium appearance. The head sized has been reduced from previous models and this reduced blade length will broaden its appeal to different levels of golfer. The more inconsistent ball strikers out there need not be concerned though, the G425 iron has a 3% higher M.O.I than the G410 and off centre hits will still produce decent results. Weight has been saved through the G425’s new construction method, and this has been redistributed in heel and toe weights making this iron one of the most stable irons ever produced. To ensure that the VFT construction does not give the G425 a tinny sound and feel at impact, PING have developed a new multi-material cavity badge that covers more of the face and dampens any unwanted frequencies. As a result, the PING G425 is the finest feeling G series iron to date.
If you are in the market for a new set of irons that will be long and forgiving, with superb feel and a towering ball flight then the PING G425 would be a superb choice. Scottsdale golf are proud PING stockists and we will be carrying huge amounts of stock to enable you to get your favourite clubs quicker than ever before.
