Scotty Cameron has created his most technically advanced putter line to date with the new Phantom X family – a collection of nine modern mallets engineered to take putting performance to the next level.
The Phantom X line presents players with a variety of new mallet setups built around a cohesive mix of five head styles, with multiple shaft bend and alignment options. Each model features a precision milled solid aluminium face integrated into a stainless steel head with enhanced vibration dampening technology for increased MOI, optimal weight distribution, improved sound, and responsive feedback.
With a single low-bend shaft crafted to promote enhanced toe flow with forgiveness, the Phantom X 7.5 employs a raised centre flange offering a continuous, connected surface accented with neon yellow alignment cues from the leading edge through the back flange. Also available in a left-handed model.
The Titleist Vokey SM9 range of wedges represents their most technologically advanced design to date, and they have been created to provide a lower flight with higher spin. The performance is further enhanced by the variety of grinds available to the consumer, with each one providing distinctive features and benefits to allow for fine tuning of your wedge game in a way previously only available to tour players.
The Spin Milled grooves that have been present on all Vokey designs in recent years have been significantly enhanced on the Titleist Vokey SM9 range of wedges. A new cutting process has been developed which has allowed Titleist to tighten their tolerances and produce consistently sharper grooves on every single wedge. Micro gooves situated in between each main groove have been added to the face, improving the level of spin and control on partial shots.
The durability of grooves on a wedge is of crucial importance as it allows the wedge to continue performing as should for a more extended period of time. Titleist have ensured that this is the case with the SM9’s by applying a proprietary heat treatment to the impact area which doubles the durability of the grooves without detracting from the famous Vokey feel. The grooves are also designed to offer optimal performance on individual lofts and finishes. The 46° to 54° wedges feature narrower and deeper grooves whilst the 56° to 62° options have wider and shallower grooves.
The Titleist Vokey SM8 was the first wedge to feature the ground-breaking Progressive Centre of Gravity design that placed the CG in a position that hovered in front of the wedge face. The SM9 design has been produced with further innovations in this area and sees the CG raised vertically by adding weight to the topline design. A tapered pad at the back of the toe is used to align the CG correctly but crucially, this technology is not visible at address. Progressive hosel lengths have also been employed to raise the CG in the higher lofted wedges. Golfers can expect to find hugely improved distance and trajectory control married to enhanced stability leading to shots that consistently finish closer to the flag.
Aesthetically the Titleist Vokey SM9 wedges deliver a wonderfully traditional shape that isn’t too much of a departure from the SM8. The clean, crisp lines that greet the golfer’s eyes at address are sure to appeal to both elite players and the average weekend golfer. Vokey wedges have always had a tremendous amount of bag appeal and the SM9 is no different. Regardless of which finish you plump for, a golf bag that holds a selection of SM9 wedges will be a thing of immense beauty.
The SM9 range has an enormous variety of different lofts and grinds that allows you to select the perfect wedge for your ability, play style and the course conditions that are most prevalent in your area. Bob Vokey takes a huge amount of pride in providing the consumer with a host of different options, with each one designed for a specific purpose. The craftmanship and attention to detail that Bob Vokey and Titleist use when creating new ranges in precisely the reason that they continue to be the #1 wedge in golf.
FEATURES AT A GLANCE
The Titleist Pro V1 is the golf ball that changed the game. First released to an unsuspecting golfing world all the way back in 2000 it brought a hitherto unseen combination of speed, distance and control. Soon enough the golf club technology caught up, and the era of the high launching, low spinning drives had arrived. Perhaps the most amazing part about the Pro V1 golf ball was that despite its super low spin off the tee, greenside controlled remained superb meaning that for the first time ever, golfers had the best of both worlds.
Since 2000 there have been several new versions of both the Titleist Pro V1 and Titleist Pro V1x which have seen gradual improvements in all aspects of its performance. This year sees the latest incarnation of this historic golf ball and it promises to be something extremely special. For the first time in over a decade Titleist have produced a brand new dimple pattern for both golf balls which looks set to offer all levels of golfers significant increases in performance.
The 2021 Titleist Pro V1 golf ball benefits from brand new aerodynamics, casing layer, cover and core technologies all of which will see this superior ball excel from Tee to Green. The redesigned soft cast Urethane Elastomer cover brings a much softer feel to the Pro V1 than ever before and brings unparalleled greenside control. The casing has been made faster which enhances ball speed and lowers long game spin still further and the 2.0 ZG Process Core has been reformulated to increase overall distance.
The Pro V1 golf ball is designed to offer less long game spin than the Pro V1x and will produce a lower, more penetrating ball flight. Both versions will offer similar greenside control but The Pro V1 does it with a softer feel. If you are serious about your golf and you want to shoot the lowest score you possibly can then there is no golf ball available today that can help you more than the 2021 version of the Titleist Pro V1 golf ball.
The 2021 Titleist Pro V1 golf ball brings total performance all the way from the Tee to the Green. It’s time to play golf without compromise.
