TaylorMade Stealth Steel Golf Irons
Over the past few seasons TaylorMade has led the way in the game improvement iron category, with their offerings proving to be a highly attractive choice for golfers that require their clubs to offer a little bit of help. Previously both the Sim and Sim 2 range of irons had two different heads to choose from – the standard and also the slightly larger OS, which was aimed at the higher handicap range. The release of the new Stealth iron sees a move away from this structure, as TaylorMade believe they have produced the complete game-improvement golf iron that will suit a broader cross section of abilities than ever before.
The innovative Cap-Back design that debuted on the SIM 2 irons has been enhanced on the TaylorMade Stealth Irons and now features Toe-Wrap construction that expands the overall distance, feel benefits and forgiveness of the original technology. Much of the R&D in the iron sector focusses on finding new ways to redistribute weight to improve performance on off centre strikes. The Toe-Wrap construction has enabled the TaylorMade engineers to move mass from the extreme high toe of the clubhead and reposition it in the sole, creating an extremely low centre of gravity. In simple terms, the TaylorMade Stealth iron is incredibly easy to launch and produces a hot trajectory throughout the set.
The clubface of the TaylorMade Stealth iron has been constructed from 450 stainless steel and it has been specifically designed to expand the sweet spot to the most commonly struck areas of the face. As much as we would all like to strike each iron shot from the centre of the face, the sad reality is that it is the exception rather than rule for most golfers. A club that can provide such fantastic performance on off centre hits can only help to improve the score on the card at the end of the round.
The Thru-Slot Speed Pocket has been further enhanced to provide more flexibility and spring and gives a most welcome boost to both ball speed and forgiveness on shots that have been struck low on the face. With many irons in the game improvement sector, they can often feel somewhat tinny at impact and produce a sound that is unpleasant on the ears. Not so with the TaylorMade Stealth irons as an Echo Dampening system has been located behind the clubface. This soft polymer insert has multiple contact points across the back of the face channeling away any harsh vibrations and providing a feel that is more akin to that of a forged iron.
If you are in the market for a new set of irons that has the potential to take your game to the next level, then the TaylorMade Stealth irons would be an excellent choice. With stellar aesthetics, unrivalled performance and exceptional feel these are one of the finest game improvement sets ever released into the golfing world.

Callaway Rogue ST Max Golf Irons
Callaway had a particularly tough job on their hands to try and improve on the outgoing range of Mavrik irons as they provided exceptional performance and were universally well received by club golfers the world over. With the release of the Rogue ST family of irons though, it is fair to say that Callaway have once again excelled themselves and produced irons that deliver out of this world performance with a new refined and sleek aesthetic.
The Callaway Rogue ST Max irons are their latest game improvement iron and will suit a broad cross section of handicaps with an appealing midsize head that is packed to the brim with the latest in club technology. They are an ideal choice for the golfer that is looking for incredible speed, forgiveness and strong all-round iron performance. The Rogue ST Max irons have plenty of bag appeal, with the classic aesthetic of the brushed chrome beautifully offset by the Black Rogue ST insert in the back of the head.
The Callaway Rogue ST Max iron really comes to life when you strike the ball, providing high launch characteristics with mid to low spin that can only serve to increase the distance of your iron shots. Callaway have designed this fantastic iron to ensure that the descent angle will be steep enough to allow your approach shots to easily hold the green.
Artificial Intelligence has once again been used in the design of the new Rogue family of irons and it uses an optimisation formula that is different for each model, to optimise spin, launch and crucially, descent angle. The Rogue ST Max irons also benefit from Precision Tungsten Weighting with 59g of tungsten being used to optimise the centre of gravity – 250% more than used in the Mavrik irons. This huge advancement in technology provides optimal launch throughout the set and increased ball speed with every iron despite lofts that are one degree weaker than the Mavrik irons they are replacing.
Callaway’s patented Urethane Microspheres have once again been strategically deployed behind the clubface and serve to improve feel and reduce unwanted and unpleasant vibrations. The microspheres now run up to the sixth groove, covering a larger area than ever before and gives the Rogue ST Max a wonderful feel through the strike.
The Callaway Rogue ST Max iron produces the most ball speed and overall distance in the new family of Rogue irons and will allow you to high towering iron shots that were previously only a pipe dream. If you are looking for a new set of irons to take your golf game to the next level, then the Callaway ST Max Irons would be a superb choice. Industry leading performance and killer looks makes the ST Max a must have iron this season.

Cobra LTDx Golf Irons
For the majority of club golfers, golf is an extremely difficult game and so any advances in technology that can make this frustrating sport a little easier are always welcomed by the golfing world. New for this season, the Cobra LTDx irons have arrived brimming with exciting and innovative technology that has the potential to change your game. Cobra has been a dominant force in the world of golf iron over the past few years with a string of high-quality releases that have been universally well received. This trend looks set to continue with the release of the superb LTDx.
The Cobra LTDx irons have been re-engineered from the inside-out and this complex process has led the Cobra engineers to develop their PWR-COR Weighting design that allows them to strategically position the Centre of Gravity whilst adding face and body flexion to deliver the maximum amount of ball speed. This unique design features a multi-material construction that utilises a floating steel bar which is suspended in a lightweight, soft polymer and perfectly positions the CG directly behind the impact area. The soft polymer filler keeps the steel bar away from the body, face and sole of the club in order to allow the face to flex to the desired level. The polymer also supplies elasticity which increases the rebound effect and produces better energy transfer and ball speed.
The PWRSHELL Face Technology that was used so successfully on both the SpeedZone and RadSpeed irons has been enlarged and enhanced by using a L-Cup insert that varies in thickness. The thin area of the face has now been increased by an incredible 23% which will now produce the maximum ball speed on shots that have been struck some distance from the centre of the face. This means that mishits will now go a much more similar distance to shots that have been flushed out of the middle. The smaller the difference in distance is between good strikes and bag strikes, the lower your score will be. When the PWR-COR and PWRSHELL technologies are combined, the result is a game improvement golf club that has the potential to transform your iron play.
Aesthetically the Cobra LTDx tick all the right boxes for a game improvement iron. They have a relatively thick topline and a nicely proportioned oversized head that is not too large for mid handicapper and not too small for the higher handicappers. The profile is a confidence inspiring one that genuinely instils confidence when addressing the ball and the overall look is a premium one that also offers plenty of bag appeal.
If you are the market for a new set of irons that will offer industry leading levels of both distance and forgiveness, then the Cobra LTDx Irons should be right at the top of your list. Cobra are setting the golfing world on fire these days with some superb new products and the Cobra LTDx irons are another fantastic addition.
